The List

Making a list is a difficult thing to do. Not because of the effort it takes to write it, that part is easy, but following the list. Following what you have written down which you know will make your year a successful year. I have written down tasks for myself before but this year I am determined and strong enough to go through with it. So without further ado, let’s get to it. I shall succeed!

1. College. I’m in my final year of my TV and Media studies. I haven’t been the model student of the class, often lacking dedication. However, in these last few months I want to make the most of it. So I’m dedicating myself fully to get the degree I deserve. I want to prove to the others I can do this.

2. Youtube. I made my Youtube channel in May 2011. A gaming channel of sorts, where I wanted to post game play of mine for other people’s enjoyment. This has been a relatively bumpy ride so far. I think I would be more into it if I had my own recording device to capture game play from my Xbox 360 console rather than relying on others to do it for me, which I have done. So this week I’m ordering a recording device and getting to it. What I want by December 2012? A lot of videos (min 50-100) and a subscriber base I can be proud of.

3. Write a book. This has been in my head for a few months now. My girlfriend and I would really like to write our own books. So this year I want to get a story down. It doesn’t have to be published this year as long as we have the creative process complete, I’ll be satisfied. Also, I have been talking with my friend Niall for years about doing a poetry book. We both finish college this year so if the time is right, we will be working on that.

4. Visit The Netherlands. I’ve been putting this off for a while. The main reason being my recent fear of flying. It’s actually quite a hard thing to deal with and I don’t like to admit this. My whole life I have been flying, multiple times a year and without a problem. Ever since our holiday to Nice (South of France) in 2009, however, I’ve been fearing getting on a plane. That flight was quite the experience and it’s something that I haven’t been able to get over yet. Even though I got on a plane last year to Amsterdam. That took a lot out of me but I did it. We went over for 1 night to see Deftones play. I would’ve gotten on a thousand planes for that, what an unforgettable night that was. So yes, i will be making a great effort to get over this year. If all goes well financially then I’ll be there. I miss my family and friends.

5. Work. As I mentioned previously, I finish college this year. My goal, as difficult as it will be in this economic climate, is to get working. Even if I can get some unpaid experience somewhere I think I would take the chance. If I fail to get work outside, then I’m going to generate my own income online in some form or another. I have a couple of ideas so far.

So, there you have it. Five, relatively do-able tasks that I have set for myself this year. Five may not seem like a lot but I think that writing down any more will take away from the honesty of it. These are things that I really want to do. Anything else will still be in the back of my mind and completed if the time is right. I’m determined, I’m ready. Let’s go and do this.

Vinny.

Row Bawt Bee Blogs: Can't Sleep, Must List Childhood Video Games

rowbawtbeeblogs:

Ok so, it’s 4:23 am. No biggie. I’ve been sleeping/not sleeping weirdly all week. This is possibly due to copious amounts of coffee and video games. Normally I don’t drink coffee a lot due to the fact that I like my coffee with flavoring and all we have is boring normal instant coffee, but my…
